Karachi is a city of prosperity and love. Do you know it has some places which tell the story of that love?

The identity of Mohatta Palace:

Mohatta Palace is a very famous and lovable attraction spot of Karachi. Many people from all over the world come to visit the palace for its beauty and attractive colors.

In the crowd of modern fascinating buildings, Mohatta Palace has its own identity. If you don’t know then let me tell you that this place was the residence of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, the beloved sister of our founding father Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Location of Mohatta Palace:

The great Mohatta palace is present on the seaside with an area of 12,000 square yards. It was constructed by Rai Bahadur Seth Shivratan, a very rich man of Karachi.

It is a seaside palace constructed from yellow Gizri and pink Jodhpur stone. The palace is a great combination of:

  • Domes.
  • Balustrades.
  • Spandrels.
  • Lovered Shutters.

Shivratan Mohatta built this palace by Agha Ahmed Hussain. He also made a tunnel that leads to a temple.

The Love Tale:

Now let’s talk about the love tale related to this palace.

Mohatta palace was actually built for a special purpose. Mohatta loved his wife a lot and she was suffering from a serious disease. All treatments go in vain. Then doctors advised him to take her to the seaside. The fresh and humid air of sea was the only treatment for the dying soul.

Mohatta loved her wife a lot. He didn’t want to lose her at any cost. Unlike, Shah Jahan who built Taj Mahal after his wife’s death, Mohatta did it in his wife’s life.

This story of love got so famous that nowadays people come to visit this grand palace. Isn’t it fascinating? Visit this place of love to admire its beauty.

The mesmerizing Architecture:

The architecture of Mohatta Palace is very unique and intriguing. It is a double-storeyed building with an area of 18,000 square feet. The area is so much more than any ordinary palace.

The entrance has beautiful windows of unique colors. The architecture is a combination of stone wall, arches, and minarets. This accumulatively provides an amazing scene to view.

The rooms at ground floor are very lush and luxurious giving you a royal feel. As you move up the rooftop, you can see the whole sea from its balcony. Now, this is to die for.

I think we all wish to have a house like this on a seaside. Don’t we?

Now there are many residential buildings around the palace but the night winds are always amazing to witness.

Mohatta Palace today:

Luckily you can visit Mohatta Palace now as it is not a residence anymore. It has turned into a public museum since 1999. Now it is an open place for the public to witness the beautiful architecture and symbolization of love.

Conclusion:

If you want to see something informative, beautiful and romantic at the same time then a visit to Mohatta palace is the best option to opt.
